I prefer not to discuss my personal life in these posts, but this is a serious enough issue which impacts the game. Over the weekend, my cat has been struggling to pee. After some emergency vet visits, I learned it was because of crystals forming in his bladder, obstructing his ability to urinate. This was an extremely serious problem that necessitated two surgeries. Both surgeries were successfully done earlier today and he is currently recovering at home with me, which has been extremely stressful and time consuming on my end.

The cost of these procedures were not cheap. As I have stated before, I'm developing this game at the expense of my savings. I am chewing through them from contracting artists, monthly bills, and daily living expenses. This rather sizable vet bill has accelerated my saving's descent. I had planned to evaluate my position at the end of the year and determine whether full-time development would be do-able, but with this bill it's almost certainly not. Unless my Patreon receives a sudden windfall, I will need to put development on-hold while searching for and performing another full-time job.

This is not to say the game will be abandoned. I do plan to continue working on Roshutsu, however it would have to be delegated back to a side project; updates would be farther and fewer between, as I wouldn't have the time to fully dedicate to it. I am still committed to releasing the Progression Update in December and have been making progress towards it. The uncertainty lies in what comes after, but I will try my best to adhere to one update per month.
